Abigail Susik, Associate Professor of Art History, began her career at Willamette in. Abigail earned her M.A. and Ph.D. from Columbia University; she has a B.A. from Barnard College, Columbia University. Specializing in modern and contemporary art history, Abigail's main research interests include dada and surrealism studies. Her research has been supported by organization such as the Graves Awards in the Humanities, the Mellon Foundation, and the Council of Independent Colleges. She has served as a co-conference organizer, journal editor, exhibit curator, and much more. Professor Susik's hard work has garnered recognition from Willamette in the form of the Faculty Achievement Award in Teaching and Research, 2015 and the Lawrence D. Cress Award for Faculty Scholarship, 2020. She has also written many journal articles and book chapters as well as the following books:
