GSM 7261: Businesses in France: Newspapers & Wire Services

Searching for newspaper & news wire service articles in France requires WU login and multi-factor verification through DUO

Hatfield Library has subscriptions to 2 different groups of databases that provide access to newspaper & wire service articles that were published in France:  Access World News from NewsBank company, and various regional news databases from the Proquest company.

Access World News  (sometimes referred to as "NewsBank") can be opened by using this link.  Then follow these specific steps:

1. Scroll down a bit until you see a map of the world, while on the left there is a list of major geographies.
2. Click on the land mass of Europe from the map. Then click on the land mass of France from the map.
3. Scroll back to the top of the screen, and you are now ready to create your search strategy which will focus exclusively on articles & news wire services that are physically based in France. 
4. If you have multiple concepts that you want to see in the results, then find and click on the rectangular box that shows a plus sign + to add additional lines of your search strategy
5. If you want, you can adjust your search strategy to focus on other countries without changing other aspects of your research topic.

Here is an example of searching Access World News for articles that simultaneously discuss AIRPORT and AIRLINES in FRANCE during the years 2022 through 2024:

Proquest has several geographically focused databases that primarily provide access to newspaper & news wire services.  Here is a link that will open up a joint search of  the following 3 databases that specifically include coverage of news sources based in France during the last 3 years:

• Asian & European Business Collection (23 sources from France)
• European Newsstream (12 sources from France)
• Global Breaking Newswires (7 sources from France)

Here is an example of searching these 3 Proquest dataases for articles that simultaneously discuss AIRPORT and AIRLINES in FRANCE during the years last 3 years:
