AI Resources

This resource is designed to assist faculty and students in the developing landscape of Artificial Intelligence.

When used properly and ethically, AI can be very helpful in writing anything from a short poem to a full fledged thesis. While there are benefits, there are also drawbacks.

Guidelines for Ethically AI Use

  • Always check with instructors if using AI is acceptable for class.
  • Paraphrase with your own words.
  • Cite content generated by AI. Give credit where credit is due.

Other Tips

  • Do not supply personal information about yourself or others.
  • Keep in mind that AI has ingrained biases that could lead to unequal treatment of people.
  • Be kind. Do not use AI generated info to harm, demean, or intimidate others.
  • Consider the environmental impact that using AI has.

Your instructors are interested in how you grow academically, and your educational journey is far more important to yourself. For more info visit: https://libguides.willamette.edu/ai
