Using the Thesaurus Linguae Graecae (TLG): Home

Welcome

The Thesaurus Linguae Graecae (TLG), an invaluable tool for students looking to research Greek texts. This database, while extremely useful, can also be quite daunting and has a rather steep learning curve. The purpose of this guide will be to help students overcome this learning curve so that they can incorporate this amazing tool into their research.

If you are just starting click on the "Creating an Account" tab. If you want to learn how to browse through the different Greek works click the "Browsing" tab. If you want to do a textual search of the database click the "Text Searches" tab.

These are just the basics for using this powerful database. If you would like to learn some of the more advanced techniques you can visit the TLG's help page here

The TLG also has some YouTube videos that also show some searching techniques HERE
