Using the Thesaurus Linguae Graecae (TLG): Browsing

Browsing

TLG has access 100s of Greek author's works and more are added every year. After registering an account, students have access to all of it. Here is a quick example of how to browse through the TLG.

BROWSING IN TLG WOULD BE EQUIVALENT TO SEARCHING IN MOST CASES. IN TLG YOU SEARCH FOR WORDS AND BROWSE FOR WORKS.

STEP 1: Click on the FULL CORPUS button

STEP 2: Click on the BROWSE TAB

STEP 3: Type in the author whose works you would like to browse into the search bar. Various names will appear in a drop-down list. Click on the author you would like. In this case we want to look at Plato the philosopher's works.

STEP 4: A box with a list of all the works of the author available will then appear. Click on the work you would like to browse.
