BIOL 244: Physiological Dynamics of Animals: People

Using Scopus to Find Researchers

Search the Scopus database for Comparative Biology, and then search within your results for additional words such as "Insect" or "mammal" or "non-model organism."

The authors from your search results are ranked by the number of publications they've written. Click "View More" and then "View all" to view more authors.

View the author's details by clicking their name.

The author's profile will list their other publications, affiliated institutions and organizations, subject area, and more.

Researchers Associated with Countries

Search the Scopus database for Comparative Biology, and then search within your results for additional words such as "Insect" or "mammal" or "non-model organism."

Along the left side are ways to limit your results.  Scroll down to Country/territory, then click "View More," and "View All."  Then select the countries you want and click "Limit To."

Comparative Physiologists

Ethologists study of animal behavior patterns of the evolution of those behavior in a species.

Microbiologists study microscopic forms of life, their structure, functions, and modes of existence.

Search Scopus for Comparative Biology --> Search within results for Microbiology --> Filter by Country

Traditionally only a handful of organisms have been widely studied, but modern research tools are enabling researchers to extend the set of model organisms to include lesser-studied and more unusual systems. These lesser-studied organisms are called "non-model organisms."

Physiologists study the physical, biomechanicaland biochemical functions in a living human body system.
