National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) is the primary federal entity within the US Dept. of Education with responsibility for collecting and analyzing data related to education. Search for data about schools (all levels, public and private) and libraries throughout the United States. Some of their resources allows you to search for data tables and figures published in multiple Department of Education publications in a single search.
An annual overview of the state of education in the United States. Includes historical data as well as some projections. Primary focus is identifying trends. Each year a different topic is examined closely.
A massive compilation of statistical information covering the broad field of American education from prekindergarten through graduate school. The Digest includes a selection of data from many sources, both government and private. Most of the statistical tables include footnotes telling you the names & URL's of larger documents that contain additional information about each report. This annual collection does not contain any analytical narratives, but does include extensive footnoting.
