Shaleigh Westphall, PNCA Instruction and Reference Librarian: Home

Westphall, S. Doing the Most With the Least, Acrylic on Canvas, 2021.

About Me

My name is Shaleigh Westphall (pronounced shə-ˈLĀ, sounds like "filet"). I received my BFA in illustration from PNCA. After a few years of odd jobs such as jewelry designer, distiller, and English teacher abroad, I realized I wanted to pursue a Masters's in Library Science. I have since completed my Master's and have worked in a variety of libraries throughout Portland.

I am passionate about connecting people to information and helping facilitate research a-ha moments. My art practice encompasses storytelling through drawing, painting, and printmaking. My areas of interest include pop culture, gothic fiction, film, comedy, comics, art history, and medical history. Feel free to tell me what you are passionate about right now or what you want to know more about because I want to know too!

  • Masters in Library Science (MLS) from Emporia State University
  • Bachelors in Fine Arts (BFA) from Pacific Northwest College of Art
