THTR 225: Scenic Design for the Entertainment Industry: Finding Your Way around the Library

Listed below are the letters and titles of the main classes of the Library of Congress (LC) Classification. Click on any class to view an outline of its subclasses in an interactive PDF format.  This list is based off of the Library of Congress Classification Outline.

There are two scanners on the 1^st floor of the library next to the Reference Book Collection. The Mark O. Hatfield Library is open Sundays 10am - 12am, Mondays - Thursdays  8am- 12am, Fridays 9 am - 6pm and Saturdays 10am - 9pm.

• Try a search using the term Dress or Art Deco
• Click on a subcategory that interests you.
• See if there is a book or article in the Bibliography that would be useful to you.
• Look in the library catalog for those books from the Bibliography.
• (Ask a librarian to help you find an article from the Bibliography)
• Click on the Links section for that article.
• Follow the links to different museums, and check out their online exhibits.
• Write down the terms you find to describe different periods, styles, articles of clothing, etc., throughout your whole searching process.
