The library lends a variety of items--not just books! We have always loaned things like dry erase markers, phone and laptop chargers. The “Library of Things” is a collection hosted by the Mark O. Hatfield Library with the goal of increasing access to materials required for extracurricular and leisure activities in an effort to improve mental health and quality of life for Willamette students. By creating a lending library of tools, outdoor items, craft supplies and more, this collection seeks to promote sustainability and ease some of the financial and practical barriers students face as they explore their interests outside of the classroom.
Funding for the initial items in the Library of Things collection was provided by a CAFES grant in 2023.

Due dates will be assigned at check-out:
Patrons are allowed to have 2 items checked out from this collection at any given time.
Late items may accrue overdue fines.
Borrowers will be charged replacement fees for lost items. The library's standard replacement fee is $90 per item ($75 replacement fee + $15 processing fee), but the replacement fees for Library of Things items will vary. Any lost items that are returned will have the replacement fee waived as long as the item is not damaged. Please contact circulation staff to arrange for an equivalent replacement or to discuss other options.
