Weddle Elementary School
Weddle Elementary is a kindergarten through fifth-grade school in south Keizer (straddles the Salem-Keizer border), and has an enrollment of roughly 450 students.
The Hatfield Library, Long Law Library, and Willamette Store collaborates with the Salem-Keizer School District to identify one local public school each year to be the beneficiary from a list of nominated schools.
The annual Children's Winter Book Drive (formerly known as the Tree of Giving) has traditionally taken place during one of the busiest times of the year: at the end of the fall semester and school year for public school and between holidays. We hope that spreading this book drive over several weeks will help increase involvement and reduce holiday stress.
New and used books in good condition are welcome. New books from the suggested list are highly desired as they fill specific needs of a school. Pre-owned books are typically integrated in school book exchange programs, absorbed into classroom libraries, used as prizes, or given away to children.
We ask the Willamette community to help support the literacy needs of this school by donating books for this worthwhile cause.
Please drop off all items at one of the following locations between Nov 15th and Jan 14th
