About me
My name is Taylor Kaplan, and I’m the Access Services Librarian at PNCA Library. Along with a fantastic team of student workers, I ensure that our front desk is welcoming, our spaces are kept beautiful, our collections are well organized, and other libraries' collections are available to our community. My goal is to make your academic life easier, and to empower you as an artist, researcher, and physical media enthusiast. So, please don’t hesitate to approach me with any questions!
As for my background: I became a librarian after years of work in music journalism, record stores, and community radio. I love connecting people with resources they’re enthusiastic about, and working with exciting physical media. Outside the library, I love cooking, record collecting, DJing on the radio and at events around town, playing team trivia, rabidly watching Jeopardy!, and exploring Portland with my wife and our amazingly sweet rescue dog Paula Walnuts (yes, that’s a Sopranos reference). Some of my favorite visual artists include Mark Rothko, Barbara Kasten, and Hieronymus Bosch.
