Everyone approaches the research process differently. No matter your approach, citation is an integral part of being a part of the larger academic conversation.
Citations are important because they:
- legitimize our arguments
- provide a form of backing for what we are saying
- provide context for the larger conversation around a topic
- show the work of others
- provide bread crumbs for others to trace our ideas
The most widely used citation style at PNCA is Chicago Style. You can use this guide to see examples of citations, annotated bibliographies, and find resources for any questions you have. The official Chicago Manual of Style content can be found at the PNCA library behind the circulation desk or through their online portal.
