The three links below search the Hatfield Library's catalog.  Children's books have shorter borrowing times than most other materials at the Hatfield Library, and can only be checked out by Willamette University's current students or employees:

 

Other awards & medals from the American Library Asssociation 

The American Library Association issues numerous award & medals for the best materials produced for specific audiences, genres, languages, ethnicities or themes.  Some awards are bestowed to authors or illustrators, or for sustained levels of excellence.  

 

Caldecott: 1938 - present

The Caldecott Medal honors the most distinguished American picture book for children annually.  It is awarded by ALA's Association for Library Service to Children

Carnegie: 1991 - present

The Carnegie Medal for Excellence highlights outstanding video productions for children.  It is awarded by ALA's Association for Library Service to Children.

Coretta Scott King: 1970 - present

The Coretta Scott King award goes to outstanding inspirational and educational contributions by African American authors & illustrators.  It is awarded by ALA's Ethnic & Multicultural Information Exchange Round Table.

Newbery:  1922 - present

The Newbery Medal recognizes the most distinguished American childrens books.  It is awarded by ALA's Association for Library Service to Children.
